Dean’s Message:

Welcome to the California Institute of Advanced Management... and the CIAM Difference!

Peter F. Drucker, commonly known as the “father of management,” outlined a values-based and theoretically-sound approach to making the world a better place; his goal was that every organization would contribute to “a functioning society.” At CIAM, we’ve embraced that philosophy and become dedicated to developing responsible and ethical professionals equipped to engage in meaningful work to create a more sustainable society.

Why? 

Because today, more than ever before, organizations are desperate for changemakers who can solve complex problems while considering the people, environment, financial resources, and impact on the community. Society needs leaders who understand people’s needs, can critically evaluate information from multiple perspectives, and who can make decisions which help us flourish both individually and collectively.

So, what is the CIAM difference? It’s the difference on your outlook on life, your economic value in the marketplace, and your ability to change society in meaningful ways using a values-based approach to everything you do. A difference in the way work is valued, the way professional and life skills are taught, the innovative approach to problem solving, and the values-based way you learn, lead, and live. And, in the end, it’s the confidence to meet society’s greatest needs by utilizing knowledge, skill, innovation, and integrity. At CIAM, we are developing responsible and ethical professionals equipped to engage in meaningful work to create a more sustainable society. We do this with small class sizes. We do this with a faculty comprised of passionate professionals who bring stellar academic credentials, significant industry experience, and a deep-rooted desire to foster practical work experience and decision making at all levels of the organization, community, and society at large. We do this through High Impact Learning exercises, experiential learning which connects the textbook with the task and specifically tailored to the courses in which they are used.
