My work experience is less than a year. Can I still apply for the MBA program at CIAM?
Yes. If your work experience is less than a year, please submit an admission petition to the Dean’s Office to request a waiver. When can I apply?
Today! We have rolling admissions so there are no application deadlines. Please refer to the school catalog or for application and enrollment deadlines so you won’t miss the next new student orientation. There are 6 terms in the year that you can pick to join us.
What are the admission requirements?
- A Bachelor's degree in any field from an accredited college or university with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. An official transcript is required.
- One year of organizational experience.
- Successful completion of the CIAM Writing Assessment.

My CGPA is lower than 3.0. Can I still apply?

How long does it take to hear back about acceptance to the program?
Once we have your application package and you have completed the assessment writing test and interview—we usually respond immediately. To check the status of your application, please contact Office of Admissions at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 1(626)-350-1500 to inquire about your status.
Courses, Credits, and Transfers:
I have never taken any business classes. Will I need to take pre-requisite courses before I begin my MBA at CIAM?
Nope, there are no pre-requisites! Business classes or experience helps, but all students with a Bachelor’s degree in any major will learn all they need in order to succeed in the program.
What is the workload for each course?
It varies; Approximate 16 hours spent outside of lectures on average. Additional Readings: six (6) hours; Paper Assignment: Four (4) hours; Consulting Project: four (4) hours; Preparing for in-class presentations: one (1) hour; Discussions Forums: one (1) hour. The online material has references to textbooks, links, and educational videos that are time consuming.

How long is each course?
- For the 1-Year Full-time Program (Accelerated), each course is 8 weeks long. The term length is also 8 weeks, with 2 courses offered per term and a total of 6 terms per year.
- For the 2-Year Full-time Program, each course is 16 weeks long. The term length is also 16 weeks, with 2 courses offered per term and a total of 3 terms per year.
Note: There is usually with a week break in between terms.
What types of financial aid options are there?
There are many options of graduate school financial aid; most come in the form of an unsubsidized loan, grants, and scholarships. The first step is to create your account on fafsa.gov; there you will be able to take your first steps towards applying for aid, along with access to additional resources to help you pay for your education.
International students are not provided the option of obtaining U.S. federal financial aid. However, there are many third party loan options, as well as grants and scholarships specifically designed for international students.

Is financial aid available?
Yes! Financial aid is available for those who qualify, options include: Federal Financial Aid (FAFSA), payment programs, and tuition financing. Non-Federal Work-Study may be available for qualified students, please contact the Office of Admissions for more information at 626-350-1500 or refer to the school catalog.
I’m an international student. Am I qualified for Financial Aid?
CIAM offers various types of aid and scholarships that you may be qualified for financing your education. However, international students are not eligible for US government financial aid programs.
Tution and Fees
Are there any extra costs beyond the $22,500 fee for the program?
If you already have a computer that meets our basic technical requirements, the only other fees include an Application fee of $50 (before admission) and minor printing & binding fees associated with the preparation of the consulting reports (during your study in the MBA program). Did we mention that textbooks are already included in your tuition?
How can I pay the US $50 application fee?
You can pay the non-refundable application fee via credit card as part of your online application here. Alternatively, you may also call +1(626)-350-1500 to process the payment over the phone or via check or money order, made payable (in U.S. funds) to the CIAM. If you are in the Los Angeles area, you may also submit your payment to the CIAM campus in person.
How much is tuition?
The total tuition cost for the MBA program is a flat $22,500 - with textbooks included. As a nonprofit institution, CIAM takes every effort possible to reduce the costs for all students; the tuition is the same for full-time students, part-time students, as well as international students.

Is CiAM accredited?
Yes! CiAM is accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC), Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS), and has received Candidacy with WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). CiAM is a member of Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and is accredited by a CHEA - recognized accrediting organization.
I don’t live near CIAM, do you offer the MBA program online?
Yes, CIAM is approved and accredited to teach online, and our online MBA program is identical to our Hybrid MBA program. Our online MBA program uses the same top professors, same textbooks, and same small classes. All professor and guest speaker lectures are recorded and posted online for you to view at your convenience. An unbeatable electronic library with over 3 million books, articles, audios, videos, photographs, and papers are available--online. Electronic textbooks are made available at no additional cost to all students in all courses, both online and on-campus. The student will achieve the same program objectives and benefits as our regular hybrid program.
What networking advantages are there at CIAM?
CIAM students meet with business leaders in every course. These executive speakers are important contacts for CIAM students. At CIAM you will forge even deeper relationships with the entrepreneurs and executives for whom you consult. Your relationship with a new consulting client in every course is your opportunity to show him or her what you can do. These projects are real work and every consulting situation not only looks good on your resume but also results in a tangible product to show prospective employers.
How do I know that CIAM professors are qualified?
All of our professors are experienced teachers with business experience; they all have doctorates in accredited universities and they undergo a rigorous review process before we hire them, including teaching a sample class before other faculty, administrators, current and former students.
Do well-known speakers ever visit CIAM?
In each course a distinguished faculty member from an Ivy league school visits your class by live electronic interaction. So, you have frequent opportunity to interact with professors from places like Harvard, Yale, UCLA, MIT and Berkeley and find out about the latest research and tends. Do I need to take the GRE/GMAT?
No. CIAM does not require GRE or GMAT scores because we do not believe standardized tests accurately represent a person's capabilities. Instead, we have our own assessment writing test. The test will be scheduled for 1 hour and can be completed in person or online. The admissions office will contact you after you submit your application to schedule a time for the test.
