Dr. William A. Cohen,

Major General USAF Ret.,

President Emeritus of CIAM

Welcome Veterans!

As a veteran myself and having personally worked at one time or another with all services, I am delighted that you are giving us a look.

We are a new graduate school, having opened our doors only in 2012, but we’ve won awards as Best MBA, Favorite College/University from local newspapers for three years running: 2012, 2013, and 2014. To put it bluntly, we do things done by no other graduate school, from having research professors speak live into the classroom and interact with students from the top schools in the country (so far, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, U. of Chicago, Columbia, Stanford, USC, UCLA, Cornell, Columbia, Berkeley and others) to teaching you by doing real consulting for real business, companies, and even foreign corporations. Our textbooks are all electronic. We commissioned them from professors around the country. The textual material is equivalent to 500-1000 pages each and they include URL links, PowerPoints, videos, dictionaries, and more. They are updated every time the course is taught, and because we own the copyrights, you get them at no cost. Even though you miss nothing, by taking two courses simultaneously, even working students complete the entire program and will receive the MBA degree in 11 months.

You will find fellow vets from both active duty and the reserve components as administrators, professors, and students. Because of something that you have seen much of, both very bad and very good - leadership - you will be able to uniquely contribute much to both CIAM and to your classmates as you go through our program and receive your very hands-on and practical MBA education.

We teach the concepts and values of a world-class leader, Peter F. Drucker. Drucker is acknowledged everywhere as “the Father of Modern Management. In fact, many experts say that he invented management. I had the great honor to be his student, and his friend after receiving my doctorate. Since his death in 2005, I’ve written several books about what I learned from him. Every accepted student receives his masterpiece,  Management: Tasks, Responsibilities, and Practices a book of over 800 pages, for reference, at no cost.

Please review everything about CIAM and feel free to ask any of us about our program. Our motto in Latin is “Tantum Vos Can Partum Posterus.” It comes from Drucker’s comment that the best way to predict the future is to create it. CIAM’s motto translated is “Only you can create the future.”

We give you the tools you need to be able to create the future that you want.

How to apply:

1) After you submit your application for Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits and VA finds you eligible, you will receive a Certificate of Eligibility.

2) Bring this certificate to CIAM’s Admissions Office and ask to apply to our Yellow Ribbon Program.

3) We will determine:

    a) Whether we have already enrolled the maximum number of participants for the program  period. Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis. CIAM and VA agree on how many students may be covered each year.

    b) What the amount of entitlement will be. This is calculated by adding up tuition and mandatory fees, and then subtracting any specific aid you’ve received from other sources such as scholarships or grants as well as your Post-9/11 GI Bill tuition payment. CIAM applies the Yellow Ribbon Program benefit to this final amount.

4) You will receive notice from CIAM about whether you have been accepted to the program and about the application of the benefit to your tuition.

5) Confirm that CIAM will submit your enrollment information to VA, and coordinate with VA for the application of the benefit to your tuition or fees.

The Yellow Ribbon Program

The Tuition Assistance program provides educational assistance to active duty military members. Each branch has specific tuition assistance limits and application procedures.

When your Tuition Assistance Authorization form is received, please submit a copy to the CIAM Admissions Office at least two (2) weeks before your class start date.  If you’re eligible for the Montgomery GI Bill (MGIB) and plan to use Tuition Assistance, you can use the MGIB Top-Up Benefit to cover the remaining costs of your college.

Click your corresponding branch below for directions on how to apply. For Coast Guard Tuition Assistance please ask your Education Service Officer if you need to apply through: Navy Knowledge Online or CG-4147.
